Parkinson Canada is sponsoring a specially curated class to kick off OmTO and welcomes those with Parkinson's (PD), friends, family and loved ones to join in. Yoga is an effective way for those with Parkinson's Disease and their caregivers to increase flexibility and ward off the rigidity associated with PD while reducing the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional challenges of caring for someone who has PD. Elisabeth Kolenko will lead a class that is accessible to everyone and will incorporate balance and stretching in a supportive environment where caregivers and friends are welcome.

This Yin + Sound Yoga class, led by Alex Petroyama, is great for calming and balancing the mind. The pace of the class is very slow where floor poses are held for longer periods of time to help open the body and calm the nervous system. Using slow deep breathing techniques accompanied by live sound instruments you will be guided through a pathway to help reduce stress and anxiety, while promoting increased flexibility and better circulation.

Jessica Ullathorne leads this Feel-Good Flow class which emphasizes the feel of alignment and movement rather than visual appearances or shapes. Slow stretches start to open the body, and we steadily build toward a sweaty place, hitting our mark with a peak song (roughly 2 minutes) where you have the chance to move on your own. We invite you to tune in and listen to what you need at this moment. As we do at Jaybird, this non-traditional workout is done by candlelight in a heated infrared room fueled by good loud music.
